Mountains of Peru, Shamanic vision of landscape. Inspired by my several trips to Peue and its sacred sites. There I saw and learned of the sacredness of these mountains as those people did centuries ago.
My paintings of the Peruvian Mountains were exhibited in Cusco Peru in 2012 at the Escuela Superior Autonoma De Bellas Artes, “Diego Quispe Tito” Del Cusco. These have formed the base of my current paintings. I have traveled to Peru , many times on spiritual retreats , visiting sacred sites in the mountains of Peru and studying the ancient cultures of the Americas over the past 17 years..
These paintings are an expression of my experiences with these mountains in which I paint their essences rather than just record of their physical appearances. For me the mountains act a symbol of eternal oneness, and for the past 3 years I have combined my understanding of these mountains with my studies of the Chinese Dao. Hence the titles of this painting and the accompanying sketch studies “Seeking the Dao in the Mountains of Peru: There Is There Is Not.”
As an artist I stand before and in the mountains of Peru feeling their sacredness, their power, and the Ancient civilizations that have lived in them, and I try to communicate this to you the viewer.
